Press Releases

Peter DeLucia has dedicated his career to public service.  Since his election in 2005, he has brought an extensive knowledge of public administration, environmental regulations and code enforcement to the Town Board. With his commitment to the practical, fair and effective enforcement of Town regulations, Peter has been regarded as one of our most experienced and hardest working Council members. His unique combination of educational, professional and volunteer experience makes him an invaluable asset for our town government.

Peter’s efforts over the past two years were key to the successful completion of projects including the town pool renovations, new construction at the Little League field in TownPark, and the implementation of a more user-friendly regulatory process for homeowners.  Peter took a leadership role in delivering a sound, zero-increase budget which began a phased project to repair our dilapidated roads.  He looks forward to completing work with state and local officials to facilitate the Library’s move to a new facility in TownPark; a move that ends a decade-long year impasse and that will allow Lewisboro to achieve long-awaited ADA compliance by utilizing the existing library building.  With a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Peter pledges to streamline and modernize the Town Supervisor’s office.

A WestchesterCounty employee since 1993, Peter is currently the Supervisor of the Administrative Hearing Office of the Westchester County Health Department where he is responsible for the interpretation and enforcement of State and County Health Codes. Before his election to the Town Board, Peter served on the Town’s Conservation Advisory Council from 2002 to September 2003.  From 2003 to 2006 he was a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals, where his fairness, dedication and common sense garnered praise from both colleagues and the homeowners who appeared before him.

When West Nile Virus initally became a public health hazard, Peter was a Team Leader and Quality Control Supervisor during the seasonal West Nile Larviciding and Surveillance program. Peter responded to sensitive community complaints, including from lake associations concerned about larviciding in storm water catch basins close to their lakes. As a media spokesperson for the program, he has appeared on Inside Edition, CBS, ABC, and Channel 12. In addition, he trains Food Service Inspectors and Children’s Camp Inspectors, and assists in management of the Adolescent Tobacco Use Prevention Act Program.

Peter and his wife, Kim built their home in Vista over 11 years ago.  Since that time, with their twins, Justin and Lauren, they have pursued their passion for sports and the outdoors.  For many years, Peter has been a coach in the Lewisboro Parks & Recreation Department’s women’s softball league and you can still find Kim and Peter out at Onatru Farm Monday nights throughout the season.  Peter’s parents are active seniors and also live in Lewisboro.

Peter holds a BA from SUNY-Albany, and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from PaceUniversity. He is a member of Pi Alpha Alpha National Honor Society in Public Affairs and Administration.
